JOCKSTRAP THE CITY

Synthesising Georgia Ellery's jazz training with unhinged electronics from Taylor Skye, Jockstrap produce a unique and hooking sound. The duo began to craft their weird and wonderful sonics whilst attending London's Guildhall. They've recently signed with cutting edge Warp Records - a label home to a plethora of brilliant artists including Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus and Broadcast (to name a few). Jockstrap's 'The City' is the fresh tune that follows lead single 'Acid', which arrived in February, making up part of the EP Wicked City to be released 5th May. 'The City' is an utterly fantastic distorted floral piano ballad. It's a wild flower polluted with London's toxicity and cast in concrete, equipped to withhold the shudder of your foundations and shake of the windows when the beat takes hold. Ellery told TMR a little about the piece: "Wicked City is a response to Love is the Key. As well as symbolic tropes resurfacing, new themes of process, independence and madness arise in Wicked City. 'The City' metaphor is obsessively explored and synthesised, whilst only hinted in the title of EP1. Will I ever solve it who bloody knows!" -Ellie Rose-Davies
